I came across this on Linked In the other day and it struck me, I think mostly because of the recognition that being a boss and being a leader are not the same thing. I strive to have the characteristics of a leader, but I know I often times fall short. Although I've been put into a position of leadership at my company, that only makes me a boss. I hope that I can find ways to not just work in my business, but to help those around me become what they have potential to be.
I might say that from what I've seen, Leaders focus on improving themselves and helping lift up those around them, and bosses focus on improving their business. If you and your people are successful, it follows that the business will follow suit.
A short thought for today as it's been crazy recently, but still, nice to have a venue to write and share.
